Sometimes an inadvertent mouse click can change the layout of Outlook Express. The layout is how the different elements (toolbar, contact list, folder list, etc.) are displayed within
Outlook Express.
The layout settings below are the most common.
Click on the View menu then select Layout.

The layout properties window show the most common layout selections.
The selections activated are:
Contacts, Folder List, Status Bar and Toolbar.
If any changes are made click on the Apply
button to save any changes without closing the Layout window. You can also customize the Toolbar by clicking on the Customize Toolbar button.

The Customize Toolbar window below shows the available Toolbar buttons in the list on the left and the current toolbar buttons and their arrangement on the right.
You can add or remove buttons by selecting the appropriate button from the list, then clicking on the Add or Remove buttons. The Separator is a vertical divider that separates the
buttons on the toolbar.
You can also arrange the order of the buttons on the toolbar by selecting the button in the right list and move it up or down compared to the other buttons.
Click Close to
return to the layout window. Then click OK to close the layout window saving any changes.
