If you have used the mailbox
subfolder feature NetDotCom provides to
"code" the e-mail addresses you give
to web sites and other casual contacts. You
need to setup Netscape to retrieve the
messages stored in the subfolders that are
created when messages are sent to the coded
e-mail addresses.
The normal Netscape setup will only retrieve messages stored in the primary mailbox folder. Messages stored in subfolders are not retrieved unless specifically setup to using the steps
detailed below.
Click on Start > Programs > Netscape
Communicator > Utilities > User Profile Manager.
When the Profile Manager appears, click the
New button to create a new profile.
Note: If Netscape has not been used before
there will not be any existing profiles
listed.

In Full Name, type in your real
name or the name you want to appear on
messages you send to other people. In Email
Address, type in your email address,
inserting the codeword for this profile
so when you send messages they have the right
return e-mail address. If your e-mail address
is janedoe@netdotcom.com
please insert a hyphen then the codeword, ie. janedoe-codeword@netdotcom.com
before @netdotcom.com. Normally your e-mail
address should
be all small letters, however you can use
capitals to make it easier to read. No
spaces are permitted. Click Next to
proceed.

The next screen shows the profile name and
storage location of the profile. We recommend
that you leave both at the suggested settings.

Next, the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
name needs to be typed in. The following
table indicates the proper mail server name to
use based on your selected NetDotCom e-mail
address. After the information is entered,
click Next to proceed.
